Patient Access Specialist

Location: Onsite in Cushing, Oklahoma, at Ardent - Hillcrest Cushing. Candidates must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour based on experience. Shift: PRN.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration activities for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, select plan codes, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and distribute educational materials.
• Screen Medicare medical necessity using ABN software and complete required documentation.
• Conduct account audits, maintain accurate records, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Cushing, Oklahoma.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
