Lead Engineer, Protection and Controls

Location: Westwood, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required as necessary, including emergency restoration assignments outside normal work hours and locations.

Annual salary: $145,670–$161,860, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Lead the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance, and operation of transmission and distribution systems.
• Supervise, coach, develop, assign, prioritize, and evaluate engineers and designers.
• Develop, justify, and approve multi-year Life Cycle Plan activities and ongoing system projects.
• Coordinate system-failure evaluation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and technical support for normal and emergency operations.
• Oversee engineering designs, equipment selection, standards, procedures, permits, and customer notifications.
• Collaborate across engineering and operating groups and assume the manager role when required.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• At least eight years of technical, operational, or engineering experience in the electrical utility industry.
• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and standard office software.
• Availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH.
