Senior Trading Systems Developer (Crypto)

Base pay: $179,000–$226,000 USD annually, plus performance-linked bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect and build a low-latency electronic trading execution platform for automated market making and quantitative trading strategies.
• Develop Rust and Java services for market-data ingestion, order and execution management, risk checks, session control, and venue connectivity.
• Build low-latency Aeron-based OMS/EMS components, market-data pipelines, message schemas, and high-throughput message-bus communication.
• Integrate with exchange APIs and venue-specific protocols, including FIX, REST, and WebSocket.
• Model order lifecycles, state machines, and execution workflows in resilient, observable, fault-tolerant services.
• Own the full software development lifecycle and collaborate with quant, trading, infrastructure, and data teams on performance, safety, and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in trading systems, ideally with prior design ownership.
• Strong Rust and/or Java 11+ experience, including performance profiling, concurrency, lock-free programming, GC tuning, or memory-safe systems design.
• Experience building electronic execution systems operating at microsecond latency.
• Deep understanding of order state machines, execution workflows, and institutional trade lifecycles.
• Experience with Aeron or other high-throughput messaging frameworks, normalized schemas, relational databases, and trade data pipelines.
• Experience with FIX, REST, and WebSocket integrations, Agile delivery, sprint planning, and team leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryptocurrency markets or electronic trading in traditional finance.
• Experience integrating execution platforms with strategy containers, risk engines, or smart order routers.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol nuances and connectivity to major exchanges.
• Exposure to container orchestration, service mesh, or hybrid deployment architectures.
