Senior Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Richardson, Texas; on-site with the team typically 2–3 days per week. Candidates should live within approximately 50 miles of the office.

Salary: $142,600–$197,100 USD base salary, plus bonus plans and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and test new features and extensions for cross-domain security products.
• Build software development tools, test infrastructure, and operational support capabilities.
• Use Rust, C, C++, Java, proprietary languages, and scripting to integrate features into complex Linux-based products.
• Design and implement cross-domain capabilities using TCP/IP networking and related protocols.
• Develop data inspection policies and secure message gateways based on government messaging standards.
• Provide technical briefings to customers and hirify.global leadership and support customer and project requirements, including limited travel.

Requirements

• Must work from the Richardson, Texas area and attend the office 2–3 days per week.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
• Direct experience with Link 16, JREAP-C, TADIL-J, USMTF, VMF, and related standards and protocols.
• Hands-on Linux software development and scripting experience with Java, Python, Go, C/C++, and/or Bash, plus Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, or Ubuntu.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, SSH, IPsec, TLS/SSL, public and private keys, certificates, and Git. Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance if required and right to work in the applied location are required.

Nice to have

• Security design and architecture experience for cross-domain solutions.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or OpenCode.
• Agile or Scrum experience and deployment of Microsoft Azure or AWS technologies.
• Experience with distributed, parallel, or clustered processing environments.
• Experience with virtual desktop technologies such as RDP, Citrix Receiver, or VMware Horizon View.
