Director, Global Benefits

Location: Hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, requiring 2 days per week in the San Francisco office.

Annual base salary: $215,000–$295,900 for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; $192,000–$264,000 for the San Francisco Bay Area. Equity, bonus, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Define and execute a multi-year global benefits roadmap across North America, EMEA, and APAC.
• Advise HR leadership and executives on benefits trends, costs, investments, and market benchmarks.
• Manage global brokers, third-party administrators, carriers, vendors, renewals, and plan negotiations.
• Oversee open enrollment, Workday integrations, daily administration, compliance, audits, and fiduciary governance.
• Lead benefits due diligence and integration for M&A and design benefits packages for new markets.
• Develop wellness, mental health, family-building, fertility, gender-affirming care, analytics, communications, and employee education programs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive HR or Total Rewards experience, including 5+ years leading global benefits strategy.
• Experience in a high-growth SaaS, technology, or enterprise environment.
• Strong expertise in global broker partnerships, RFPs, plan negotiations, and vendor management.
• Experience with financial analysis, scenario projections, self-funded plans, and multi-million-dollar global budgets.
• Deep knowledge of US health and welfare programs, 401(k) fiduciary governance, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and statutory benefits across EMEA and APAC.
• Experience with Workday, benefits administration platforms, AI-driven benefits technology, and cross-functional work with Payroll, Legal, and Systems teams.
