Director, People Operations (Biotech)

Location: Office-based in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States

Base pay: $215,000–$235,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead the People Operations strategy, operating model, roadmap, and daily execution across onboarding, HRIS administration, benefits, employee lifecycle operations, reporting, compliance, and service delivery.
• Oversee recurring HR programs, including compensation cycles, performance management, talent processes, employee lifecycle events, communications, reporting, and issue resolution.
• Own governance and continuous improvement for ADP Workforce Now and related HR technology, including data integrity, workflows, integrations, automation, and reporting.
• Build scalable onboarding, HR service delivery, documentation, process governance, operational metrics, and automation initiatives.
• Manage HR compliance, employee records, audits, privacy, benefits administration, immigration processes, vendors, contracts, service levels, and operational spend.
• Lead, coach, and develop People Operations team members and functional workstream owners while partnering with HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Procurement, Facilities, and external vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive HR operations, People Operations, HR shared services, or related HR experience, preferably in biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or high-growth environments.
• Deep experience with HRIS, ATS, HR technology, automation, reporting, and data governance; ADP Workforce Now and Greenhouse experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience evaluating and governing AI-enabled HR technology with attention to data privacy, compliance, bias mitigation, change management, and adoption.
• Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment documentation, employee data, benefits, vendor management, recordkeeping, audits, leave coordination, and immigration processes.
• Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives, advise senior stakeholders, analyze HR data, and operate strategically while executing hands-on work in a fast-paced organization.
