Senior Legal Counsel-Commercial (AI Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote, must be based in the United Kingdom; regular in-person collaboration with colleagues may require travel.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate enterprise customer agreements, SaaS and software licences, proof-of-concept agreements, reseller arrangements, procurement contracts, and data processing agreements.
• Partner with Sales and Finance on deal structures, negotiation strategy, escalations, and risk management.
• Advise on AI-related commercial issues, including data use, model training restrictions, intellectual property, confidentiality, warranties, liability, and third-party AI provider terms.
• Support Product, Engineering, and Security teams with legal guidance for new capabilities, launches, and customer commitments.
• Define contractual testing permissions, scope, acceptable use, vulnerability findings, and handling of sensitive customer information.
• Build templates, negotiation playbooks, approval workflows, training, and other processes that improve legal support and contract consistency.

Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial legal experience with substantial responsibility for complex technology agreements.
• In-house legal experience at a technology company, including direct work with commercial, product, and technical stakeholders.
• Startup experience and the ability to build processes while operating with limited resources.
• Direct legal experience advising on AI products or services, including commercial terms, data rights, intellectual property, and risk allocation.
• Admission to practise as a qualified lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong independent negotiation, commercial judgment, communication, prioritisation, privacy, data protection, and information security skills.

• Experience in cybersecurity, offensive security, or developer tools.
• Experience negotiating international enterprise transactions.
• Experience building a commercial legal function or improving contract management systems.
• Experience using AI tools to improve legal workflows.
