Counsel, Arrowhead Intermediaries (Insurance)

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 annually

Insurance services organization operating specialty distribution businesses across wholesale, programs, and specialty divisions.

What you will do

• Provide legal support for specialty distribution insurance operations across wholesale, programs, and specialty divisions.
• Analyze legal and compliance matters related to product development, program launches, cross-border projects, and M&A.
• Draft, review, and negotiate insurance distribution, producer, program administration, claims administration, fronting, vendor, confidentiality, and other commercial agreements.
• Research and monitor insurance laws, regulations, and regulatory developments affecting supported businesses.
• Support pre-litigation matters, claims, disputes, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, internal investigations, corporate governance, entity management, ethics, and compliance initiatives.
• Partner with business, operations, compliance, IT, finance, tax, privacy, technology, regulatory, litigation, and human resources stakeholders.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• At least seven years of legal experience in general corporate and transactional matters.
• Three to five years of in-house experience at an insurance carrier, MGA, MGU, insurance brokerage, wholesale brokerage, or a law firm advising reinsurance clients; carrier or MGA experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. admitted and excess-and-surplus insurance market regulation, with working knowledge of U.S. cybersecurity, privacy, and AI regulation.
• Strong drafting, research, analytical, negotiation, communication, independent judgment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Bermuda, UK, and EU reinsurance regulatory regimes.
