Senior Analog Design Engineer (Silicon Photonics): Designing and validating high-speed analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for advanced silicon photonics and optical interconnect products with an accent on low-voltage, low-power circuit architecture, serial links, and production-ready integration. Focus on developing 32 Gbps-and-above circuit blocks, integrating full-chip designs, and creating post-silicon test and characterization plans.

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; hybrid work with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work

What you will do

  • Architect, design, implement, and validate high-speed analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for optical interconnect products.
  • Define circuit architectures that meet power, performance, and functionality requirements for next-generation optical links.
  • Lead block-level design and collaborate with digital, multidisciplinary, and cross-functional teams from concept through production.
  • Design low-voltage, low-power circuits including amplifiers, drivers, equalizers, PLLs, phase interpolators, and clock and data recovery circuits.
  • Plan design activities while balancing performance, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Develop post-silicon test and characterization plans and maintain design specifications, reviews, and technical reports.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 4+ years of industry experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing high-speed circuit blocks for data rates of 32 Gbps and above.
  • Experience designing inductors, transmission lines, transimpedance amplifiers, and optical modulator drivers.
  • Strong expertise in high-speed serial link design and analog CMOS/BiCMOS circuits using deep-submicron process technologies.
  • Experience with full-chip integration, ESD design considerations, and verification methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with optical communication systems and 400G, 800G, or 1.6T optical links.
  • Experience with package design, test setup development, ADCs, DACs, PAM4, and NRZ link architectures.
  • Strong understanding of mixed-signal design methodologies and flows.
