Principal Software Engineer (Android)

Location: Atlanta, GA, United States; hybrid work model. Minimal travel is associated with the role.

Minimum base compensation: $170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, cost-effective software solutions while balancing opportunity and complexity.
• Set codebase health standards and promote software development best practices across the organization.
• Translate customer, business, and strategic needs into projects, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead complex projects and multiple project teams, influencing technical direction and organization-level decisions.
• Coordinate across the company, advise teams, manage stakeholders, and drive improvements to customer experience.
• Mentor engineers and leaders, develop career paths, and foster continuous learning and informed decision-making.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years of native Android development.
• Deep understanding of the Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, AndroidX, dependency injection, and native Android architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing features with high unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.
• Experience creating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines with quality gates and tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud device farms, mobile performance testing, AWS or Google Cloud, databases, REST APIs or Protobuf, and MVVM or MVI architecture.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, mentoring, problem-solving, scripting, and *nix command-line skills.

Nice to have

• Native iOS development experience.
• React Native experience.
• Experience with device virtualization at scale and automated QA techniques.
