Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack/Android)

Location: Full-time onsite role in Sunnyvale, California, United States. Remote and hybrid options are not available.

Salary: $117,000–$234,000 annual salary, plus performance bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Develop highly scalable Android applications and services for the Post Transactions team.
• Build systems supporting order amendments, order details, payment edits, address updates, and other post-transaction workflows.
• Design and implement distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions processing millions of requests per day.
• Lead technical work related to system scale, monetization, architecture, and complex software engineering problems.
• Translate business and product requirements into sustainable technical solutions while collaborating with product, project management, UX, and cross-functional teams.
• Write code, conduct unit testing, troubleshoot defects, support users, and deliver projects and handoffs on schedule.

Requirements

• Must work onsite in Sunnyvale, California; remote and hybrid work are not available.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• At least 4 years of native Android application development experience with Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, Compose, ViewModel, Coroutines/Flow, Room, and MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud components and architecture, plus experience with Azure or another cloud platform.
• Experience designing and maintaining highly scalable APIs and services, large-scale distributed systems, event-driven architecture, Kafka or similar messaging infrastructure, microservices, CI/CD, and unit testing.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 3 years of software engineering experience, or 5 years of software engineering experience.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
