Senior Fullstack Engineer (React/TypeScript/AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York City or San Francisco, with in-person office work 4 days per week

Salary: $180,000–$250,000+ per year for applicants in the US, depending on experience and skills

What you will do

• Own and ship end-to-end product features for students and teachers.
• Partner with product managers and designers on UX, interaction design, and visual quality.
• Shape frontend and full-stack technical direction and translate product goals into implementation plans.
• Improve frontend quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Contribute to prototyping, testing, rollout, and production support.
• Collaborate with engineers to design APIs and deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, CSS, and production-grade user-facing web features.
• Backend experience with Kotlin, Python, Go, Rust, or Scala, plus full-stack experience with APIs and relational databases such as MySQL.
• Experience leading complex features with minimal guidance and mentoring or managing junior and mid-level engineers for at least 2 years.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and communicating technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical partners.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating and shipping features backed by LLMs or AI APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
