Underwriter / Account Executive, Select (Commercial Lines)

Location: Centennial, Colorado, United States; regular travel to in-person meetings with agents and brokers is required.

Annual base salary: $85,600–$141,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned commercial book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate property and casualty accounts, applying risk analysis to accept, decline, modify, rate, and quote accounts.
• Provide coverage including property, general liability, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, and umbrella insurance.
• Build relationships with internal partners, agents, and brokers to develop sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Market and sell insurance products, identify new business, and retain accounts aligned with the company’s risk appetite.
• Collaborate with sales executives and underwriting leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least two years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial work, sales, product, or finance.
• Three to five years of relevant underwriting experience, including commercial lines experience.
• Knowledge of commercial lines products and strong critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to negotiate effectively with agents and brokers and make timely underwriting decisions.
• CPCU designation.
