Sr Life Underwriter (Life Insurance)

Salary: $79,000–$95,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus of 12.5%.

What you will do

• Evaluate individual life insurance cases and ensure effective risk selection.
• Exercise approval authority up to $1.5–$2.5 million across all tables and ages.
• Evaluate cases with coverage amounts up to $3.5 million.
• Collaborate frequently with underwriting, new business, distribution, and peer groups.
• Improve underwriting processes and volunteer to lead departmental or functional projects.
• Work independently while supporting the wider underwriting team in a virtual environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least four years of life or health underwriting experience.
• Experience with AWD or a similar system, Microsoft Office, risk assessment, and underwriting platforms.
• Strong organization, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, meet productivity demands, and work independently in a remote setting.
• Ability to work remotely from the USA.

Nice to have

• At least two LOMA classes and progress toward the FLMI designation.
• AALU Certification and progress toward FALU.
