Patient Access Specialist - Effingham PRN

Location: Onsite at HSHS-St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham, Illinois; applicants must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting, registration, and pre-registration activities for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select appropriate plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute and document required Medicare, consent, observation, and patient education forms.
• Conduct account audits, correct documentation issues, provide statistical data, and operate the hospital telephone switchboard.
• Deliver compassionate customer service while meeting organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and point-of-service goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Ability to work onsite at HSHS-St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
