VP of Finance (Quantum Hardware)

Location: Denver, Colorado or New York, New York, United States

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 base salary per year, plus performance bonuses and equity options.

What you will do

• Lead the finance function and advise the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors on financial strategy and capital allocation.
• Own annual operating plans, long-range planning, rolling forecasts, scenario analysis, budgeting, and company-wide performance metrics.
• Build financial models connecting revenue, backlog, production capacity, headcount, capital expenditures, R&D milestones, and cash requirements.
• Develop manufacturing finance capabilities covering bills of materials, labor, overhead, yields, scrap, inventory, capacity utilization, and cost per system.
• Oversee the Controller, financial reporting, controls, compliance, accounting systems, and reporting across domestic and international entities.
• Lead board reporting, fundraising preparation, investor updates, government and commercial contract economics, and evaluation of strategic transactions.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant leadership experience in a startup, manufacturing, hardware, deep-tech, aerospace, defense, or similarly complex environment.
• Experience leading a finance function and managing or overseeing a Controller and accounting organization.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, including inventory, cost accounting, bills of materials, production yields, working capital, capital expenditures, and gross-margin improvement.
• Experience scaling venture-backed or high-growth organizations, building planning and reporting capabilities, and modeling long development cycles and hardware production ramps.
• Experience with fundraising, investor relations, board reporting, capital planning, and translating technical milestones into financial forecasts.
• Strong executive communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and hands-on leadership capabilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with government contracts, grants, SBIR/STTR programs, or regulated contracting environments.
• Experience supporting international entities or global operations.
• Experience implementing or scaling ERP, planning, and business-intelligence systems.
• MBA, CFA, or CPA.
