Director, Manufacturing Finance (Life Sciences)

Location: Hybrid in Waltham, Massachusetts, with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

Salary: $200,000–$260,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations leaders to improve financial performance, production efficiency, capacity utilization, and cost structure.
• Lead annual operating plans, quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, variance analysis, and executive-level financial reporting.
• Oversee standard costing, product costing, bills of materials, routing assumptions, and labor, material, overhead, and absorption variance analysis.
• Drive inventory optimization across turns, obsolescence, excess inventory, slow-moving inventory, valuation, and capitalization.
• Evaluate capital expenditures for equipment, automation, and facility expansion through business cases, ROI models, and post-investment reviews.
• Support SAP S/4HANA manufacturing finance improvements while strengthening internal controls, audit readiness, SOX compliance, and regulatory processes.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience with significant manufacturing exposure.
• Deep expertise in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, standard costing, absorption costing, inventory management, and operational KPIs.
• Experience supporting multi-site, global manufacturing operations and working with ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA is strongly preferred.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, communication, and cross-functional business-partnering skills, including executive presentations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Waltham 4 days per week.

• Experience in life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience with artificial-intelligence-enabled finance tools.
• Experience leading Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reporting and sustainability transition planning.
