TL;DR
Director, Manufacturing Finance (Manufacturing Finance/SAP S/4HANA): Leading financial planning, cost accounting, inventory management, and capital investment across a regulated global manufacturing organization with an accent on operational efficiency, standard costing, and margin expansion. Focus on translating manufacturing metrics into financial outcomes, optimizing inventory and capacity, supporting SAP S/4HANA improvements, and developing ROI models for automation and facility investments.
Location: Hybrid schedule with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States
Salary: $200,000–$260,000 per year

What you will do
- Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations leaders to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Lead annual operating plans, quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, and variance analysis across manufacturing operations.
- Oversee standard costing, product costing, BOM integrity, routing assumptions, and labor, material, overhead, and absorption variance analysis.
- Drive inventory optimization covering turns, obsolescence, and excess or slow-moving inventory while ensuring US GAAP compliance.
- Evaluate capital expenditures, automation, equipment, and facility expansion through business cases, ROI models, and post-investment reviews.
- Support SAP S/4HANA implementation and optimization while strengthening controls, audit readiness, SOX compliance, and manufacturing finance processes.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant manufacturing exposure.
- Deep expertise in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, standard costing, absorption costing, inventory management, and operational KPIs.
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, communication, and cross-functional influencing skills, including executive-level presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Ability to work four days in the Waltham office and one day remotely; physical capacity to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds as required.
Nice to have
- Experience in life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience with artificial intelligence-enabled tools.
- Experience leading Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reporting and supporting emissions-reduction transition plans.
