Supply Chain Manager (Robotics)

What you will do

• Source, qualify, and manage suppliers for every purchased part on the Sonny V2 bill of materials, including second-sourcing critical components.
• Own purchase orders, buffer strategy, material coverage, freight decisions, and controlled drawings and revisions attached to critical orders.
• Build clear-to-build reports, shortage forecasts, lead-time trackers, and material-risk dashboards using ION and production forecasts.
• Drive unit cost, payment terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, landed cost, and COGS through structured supplier negotiations.
• Coordinate BOM and design-change absorption with Production Engineering and R&D through the ECO process.
• Evaluate outsourced sub-assembly and contract-manufacturing options while tracking supplier delivery, quality, responsiveness, and system-of-record accuracy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or strategic sourcing for hardware products, ideally across prototype, pilot, and production stages.
• Hands-on experience sourcing from and managing Chinese vendors, including factory qualification, payment structures, freight, customs, and communication across time zones.
• Proven negotiation experience with measurable improvements in cost, lead time, MOQs, or payment terms.
• Strong analytical and tool-building skills with Excel, SQL, Python, or a business-intelligence tool; experience creating clear-to-build, MRP, or shortage-forecasting tools.
• Fluency with an MES, ERP, or PLM system such as ION, NetSuite, Arena, Odoo, or SAP, including controlled BOMs and revision control.
• Mechanical and electrical literacy, a bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or equivalent experience, and willingness to work on the shop floor, in the warehouse, and travel occasionally to suppliers.

Nice to have

• Mandarin or Cantonese fluency for work with China-based suppliers.
• Experience with robotics, automation, electric vehicles, drones, or other electromechanical products.
• Experience establishing China-based sourcing operations, working with sourcing agents, or managing contract manufacturing and EMS outsourcing.
• APICS, CPSM, or CSCP certification, Lean Six Sigma training, or experience with First Resonance ION.
