Fullstack Software Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Build and own human-robot interfaces for robot setup, calibration, live operation, monitoring, debugging, and review.
• Design unified workflows that coordinate researchers, operators, hardware, and software across full operational shifts.
• Develop safe, predictable behavior for degraded networks, camera failures, and other operational faults.
• Own realtime video, robot state, and control experiences, including interfaces for controllers, headsets, pedals, and sensors.
• Define device-versus-cloud architecture and ship versioned software across labs, warehouses, and partner sites with strong observability.
• Gather requirements, prioritize work, define success metrics, ship products, and drive adoption directly with users.

Requirements

• Strong fullstack engineering experience building production web applications and APIs with React, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with realtime web systems, including WebRTC, WebSockets, streaming video, state synchronization, and debugging.
• Experience with binary wire formats and schema-defined interfaces such as protobuf and gRPC.
• Experience deploying software on unmanaged on-premise or on-device machines, including degraded-network operation and fleet versioning.
• Strong UX judgment for high-stakes, high-frequency interfaces and workflows where physical mistakes have real consequences.
• Strong product judgment and experience working directly with users through ambiguous workflows and changing requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with teleoperation, robotics, safety-critical or industrial systems, hardware integration, firmware, or embedded software.
• Founder or early-employee experience, or a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems end to end.
• Experience with workflow, dispatch, or scheduling systems for physical-world operations.
• Experience with Postgres, GCP, Kubernetes, or the broader stated technology stack.
