Counselor (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Provide individual and group counseling for patients recovering from drug and alcohol disorders.
• Build trusting relationships and support patients throughout intake, orientation, treatment, and recovery.
• Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate patient records.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs and connect them with community resources.
• Follow up on referrals, respond to crisis situations, and complete required documentation.
• Maintain an inclusive, respectful, and compassionate care environment while following applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Must work at the Glen Allen, Virginia location; the posting lists the role as on-site and the title as hybrid.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human services or a related field required.
• Must hold a Virginia credential: CSAC-S, CSAC, Resident in Counseling, Supervisee in Social Work, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LSATP.
• Ability to use sound judgment with confidential and sensitive issues.
• Knowledge of human behavior, substance abuse treatment planning, and human social services.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with patients experiencing substance use and mental health conditions.

• Experience in behavioral health.
