Counselor (Behavioral Health)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, USA; fully on-site

Salary: $22.00+ per hour plus bonus structure

Behavioral Health Group provides opioid addiction treatment and substance use disorder services through a network of Joint Commission-accredited treatment centers.

What you will do

• Conduct individual alcohol and drug abuse counseling, group sessions, intake, readmission, and follow-up counseling.
• Assess patients' social, educational, economic, and vocational needs and develop and revise treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention, referrals, supportive follow-up, and coordination with community providers.
• Orient patients to treatment program operations, procedures, and drug-free living.
• Maintain comprehensive records and inter-agency documentation while meeting regulatory and accrediting standards.
• Participate in OBOT services, staff training, program implementation, meetings, and community relations activities.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related Human Services field.
• Knowledge of human behavior, substance use disorders, treatment planning, and human social services.
• Ability to make effective decisions and exercise sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive matters.
• Ability to respond quickly and work effectively with patients and team members in stressful situations.
• Compliance with applicable federal and state requirements for certification, licensure, and degree qualifications.
• Availability for a fully on-site schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
