Wastewater Process Engineer

Location: Onsite in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, United States. Travel may include up to 10%. Relocation may be authorized. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Compensation: $98,964–$120,957 per year, including base pay and eligible variable incentive pay.

What you will do

• Oversee traditional wastewater treatment operations and optimize treatment effectiveness to meet internal goals and discharge permit requirements.
• Conduct process modeling, data analysis, and technical evaluations to improve treatment performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain standard work and process control procedures for wastewater treatment operations.
• Lead root cause investigations and provide engineering support, troubleshooting treatment issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Participate in project planning, implementation of process changes, environmental stewardship, sustainability, and continuous improvement programs.
• Provide support outside traditional working hours when equipment issues require attention.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline, completed and verified before the start date.
• Knowledge or experience with wastewater treatment processes.
• Knowledge of NPDES permit compliance and state and federal water quality regulations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship is required.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and communicate clearly.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Class A or B wastewater operator license.
• Environmental experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Project management experience and familiarity with Excel, Access, or SharePoint.
