Senior Mission Manager (Coimbra or Porto)

Location: Hybrid role based in Portugal, with locations in Coimbra or Porto. Candidates must have the legal right to work in their chosen location.

What you will do

• Own the full mission lifecycle from initial requirements through launch and in-orbit commissioning.
• Translate complex mission concepts into executable plans covering timelines, resources, budgets, and delivery frameworks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across systems engineering, AIT, manufacturing, supply chain, and mission operations.
• Coordinate customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders through structured communication and reporting.
• Oversee launch services, ground-segment integration, regulatory approvals, and compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
• Identify risks, drive mitigation and recovery plans, support proposals and cost modelling, and mentor other mission managers.

Requirements

• Strong experience delivering projects in complex, multidisciplinary environments, ideally in space or high-reliability engineering.
• Understanding of satellite systems, payloads, or mission operations.
• Ability to balance scope, schedule, cost, risk, and multiple parallel workstreams.
• Experience with stakeholder management, commercial contracts, supplier coordination, and delivery frameworks.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the space sector.
• Comfort using project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or similar.
