IT Support Technician (Manufacturing Digitalisation)

Location: Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom; regular work in a factory environment.

What you will do

• Provide first- and second-line IT support for production employees, contractors, and business partners.
• Prepare, deploy, configure, image, hand over, and manage laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
• Diagnose technical issues affecting production systems, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures to reduce downtime.
• Support manufacturing digitalisation tools and shop floor technologies, including SECOMEA, VMware, SAP printing solutions, hand scanners, cameras, and related systems.
• Coordinate IT system and process changes and contribute to projects involving AI tool deployment, shop floor technology, Blade Changeout, Optical Blade solutions, and systems integration.
• Maintain server, camera, key management, network, procurement, and inventory infrastructure while training and supporting users.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven IT support experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, device management, server support, manufacturing digital tools, and production system technologies.
• Ability to analyse complex technical issues, identify root causes, manage priorities, and support system changes.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, standards, and access control in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to work regularly in a factory environment and follow Health & Safety standards.
