Senior Legal Counsel - AI and Digital assets (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid with an expectation of three days onsite per week. Employees may work remotely from abroad for up to 30 days per year.

What you will do

• Advise on the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through launch and global scaling.
• Review and negotiate commercial, partner, and new product development agreements.
• Draft and maintain customer-facing terms, conditions, disclosures, and other legal documents for new products and AI-driven features.
• Advise on payment services regulation, digital assets, stablecoins, custody, cross-border transfers, data protection, privacy, and market expansion.
• Act as the legal expert on AI, including agentic AI, liability, governance, data use, AI-tool contracting, and emerging regulation.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, product, engineering, and external counsel while improving legal and governance processes.

Requirements

• UK or EU qualified lawyer with 8+ years of experience in financial services, payments, and/or technology.
• Strong experience across regulatory, privacy, and commercial legal matters, including UK and EU payment services regulation.
• Hands-on knowledge of payments, digital assets, stablecoins, AI, and agentic AI.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and cross-border data transfers.
• Comfort working with technology teams, following technical discussions, and operating effectively in ambiguity.
• Excellent communication skills, ownership, independent judgment, and the ability to explain complex legal or technical issues in plain English.
