TL;DR
Senior Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Building and operating the platform that enables development teams to manage cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and shared observability systems with an accent on developer experience, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code. Focus on designing golden paths, improving engineering workflows, strengthening testing and staging environments, and advancing CI/CD capabilities.
Location: Berlin, Germany; on-site at the Berlin office for at least 80% of weekly working hours. Up to 20% mobile work is available within Germany, with an option to work from abroad. Relocation to Germany is supported, and visa sponsorship is available for candidates joining from outside Germany.

What you will do
- Join the Platform Engineering team within Digital Enablement and collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure, Security, IT Operations, and engineering teams.
- Work hands-on with AWS, Kubernetes, Backstage, GitHub, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Build and improve developer self-service capabilities, shared libraries, and golden paths.
- Help engineering teams upgrade their technology stacks and delivery pipelines.
- Strengthen testing, staging, CI/CD, metrics, and logging infrastructure serving millions of users.
- Drive platform innovation and continuously improve developer experience.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in Dev, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
- Practical exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong problem-solving, adaptability, ownership, and communication skills.
- English is required; German is a plus.
- Ability to balance developer experience, setup complexity, and company requirements.
- Some knowledge of application and infrastructure security.
Nice to have
- Broader CI/CD experience and understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
- Software development experience with Java, Python, or Golang.
- Experience with observability tools.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code, or GoatOps.
