Senior Engineer, Fullstack, Retail Media/AdTech Solutions (m/f/d)

Location: Cologne, Germany; hybrid work from anywhere in Germany with regular team and area anchor days at the office

What you will do

• Develop and optimize Node.js and TypeScript microservices focused on performance, modularity, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
• Build React applications with Next.js, Material UI, Formik, and JSONSchema validation.
• Design responsive, accessible, and high-performance customer-facing interfaces.
• Integrate MongoDB, Redis, and Algolia for real-time advertising delivery and insights.
• Implement reliable distributed messaging and background processing with BullMQ and RabbitMQ.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Analytics on end-to-end Retail Media features, technical reviews, and solution discovery.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and modern web technologies.
• Deep experience building scalable microservices and frontend applications in cloud-native environments.
• Experience writing clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-tested code with a focus on long-term system health.
• Experience integrating AI into real systems and shipping AI-powered features.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to work from Germany and attend regular team and area anchor days at the office.

Nice to have

• Experience with AdTech or Retail Media platforms such as Kevel, Google Ad Manager, CitrusAd, or TopSort.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, CircleCI, ArgoCD, or modern ad-serving integrations.
