Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build resilient systems based on distributed services, containers, automation, and Kubernetes.
• Conduct system design reviews and validate solutions against architectural best practices.
• Build AI-driven applications with machine learning components and intelligent automation features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, define success metrics, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Must work from the Sunnyvale, California location.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, automation, and scalable resilient systems.
• Experience with system design reviews, software design patterns, API design, prototyping, CI/CD, and software lifecycle leadership.
• Experience mentoring engineers, influencing technical decisions, and using data-driven metrics to improve engineering processes.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, digital accessibility, and inclusive product design.
