Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco, CA

Salary: $190,000 – $220,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Build and maintain agent knowledge and evaluation infrastructure for long-horizon AI agents.
• Develop next-generation agents to solve complex customer use cases.
• Perform error analysis on agent behavior to drive concrete quality improvements.
• Develop backend systems supporting agent execution, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Partner with senior engineers to execute the platform's reliability and quality roadmap.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building AI products.
• Working knowledge of evals and error analysis.
• Backend engineering experience with a bias toward reliable systems.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in San Francisco, CA.
