Electrical Engineering Internship (Hardware)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; onsite at a hirify.global facility

hirify.global develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.

What you will do

• Design and build electronics hardware for satellite communication systems.
• Develop hardware from concept through part selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, build, test, delivery, and in-orbit support.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts under the guidance of design engineers.
• Perform circuit analysis, hardware bring-up, debugging, and hands-on laboratory testing.
• Present project work to peers, mentors, and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering at an accredited university.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher and strong fundamentals in electrical engineering.
• Practical experience designing and building electronics hardware through research, competition teams, extracurricular projects, internships, or advanced coursework.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and signal generators.
• Applicants must be eligible under U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations, including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or candidates eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Competition team, research, aerospace, or CubeSat experience.
• Advanced coursework or research in digital, power, analog, or RF circuit design.
• Programming skills in C, C++, Python, or MATLAB for hardware bring-up and testing.
• Experience with SPICE-based circuit simulation.
