Location: On-site five days per week at the Torrance, California headquarters; remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under export regulations.
Compensation: $34 per hour, plus a relocation and housing stipend.

What you will do
- Redesign printed circuit board assemblies for new reactor systems.
- Develop schematics, select components, support PCB layouts, and participate in design reviews.
- Design electrical harnesses, including wiring diagrams, connectors, pinouts, and routing.
- Build and test prototype boards, harnesses, and electrical assemblies.
- Develop hardware-in-the-loop tests and system-level infrastructure for hardware qualification.
- Troubleshoot electrical hardware, analyze test data, document designs and tests, and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, controls, and test engineers.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with circuit design, schematics, and PCB development.
- Experience building, testing, or debugging electrical hardware through coursework, research, student teams, or personal projects.
- Understanding of oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, electrical drawings, datasheets, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and willingness to work directly with hardware.
- Must satisfy U.S. export-control eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
Nice to have
- Experience with Altium Designer or another PCB design tool.
- Experience designing cable harnesses or selecting connectors.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, communication protocols, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or automated test systems.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar test and analysis tools.
- Experience on Formula SAE, rocketry, robotics, CubeSat, or another hands-on engineering team.
