Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote within the United States; remote employees travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter, and the first two weeks of onboarding are onsite. The role supports construction at Idaho National Laboratory and requires travel to project offices, vendor facilities, and the construction site. Applicants must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export-control laws.
Salary: $115,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead the owner-side electrical scope for the Aurora-INL powerhouse from design development through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
- Coordinate electrical design and execution across internal engineering teams, EPC partners, equipment vendors, project management, and construction.
- Establish and review electrical criteria, requirements, calculations, specifications, drawings, equipment data, and electrical studies.
- Review load-flow, short-circuit, protective-device coordination, arc-flash, grounding, and other applicable analyses.
- Resolve technical questions, RFIs, design changes, nonconformances, vendor interfaces, and field issues.
- Support constructability reviews, installation planning, inspections, testing, commissioning, operations, and equipment procurement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- At least eight years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience, including significant power-generation systems experience.
- Experience with facility power distribution, emergency power, grounding, electrical equipment, engineering documents, vendor submittals, and electrical studies.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including IEEE standards and relevant building and fire codes.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary work across contractors and vendors, prioritize issues, and deliver practical solutions in a fast-paced design-build environment.
- Ability to travel to project offices, vendor facilities, the Aurora-INL construction site, and the Santa Clara headquarters as required.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with nuclear or DOE-regulated facilities, EPC or progressive design-build execution, and field construction.
- Experience with ETAP, CDEGS, Bluebeam, switchyard design, high-voltage utility coordination, commissioning, startup, or industrial electrical turnover.
- Ten or more years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience.
