Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Folsom, California; Reno, Nevada; Huntsville, Alabama; Long Beach, California; or remote. The role is primarily onsite and may be based at a Voyager Technologies facility. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Salary: California range $103,000–$199,000 USD; Nevada range $97,000–$189,000 USD.

What you will do

• Lead and support systems engineering for solid rocket propulsion systems from concept development through design, integration, testing, qualification, production, and sustainment.
• Develop, decompose, allocate, and maintain system and subsystem requirements with full lifecycle traceability.
• Define system architectures, technical baselines, interfaces, trade studies, and configuration management activities.
• Develop verification and validation strategies, plans, methods, and matrices.
• Support propulsion development and test activities by reviewing test plans and data, evaluating results, and conducting anomaly investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate technical analyses, design decisions, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, systems, electrical engineering, or a related technical field with 4–15 years of relevant experience; a master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience, and additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience applying systems engineering principles to complex aerospace hardware, propulsion systems, or integrated technical products.
• Experience supporting solid rocket motors or solid propulsion systems, including propulsion interfaces, development, testing, qualification, or production support.
• Familiarity with requirements management, configuration management, interface control, verification and validation, and MBSE concepts.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance and comply with applicable safety, quality, export-control, and government requirements.
• Applicants must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience managing system requirements, interfaces, verification methods, and technical baselines.
• Experience preparing requirements specifications, interface control documents, verification plans, and technical reports.
• Experience participating in multidisciplinary design reviews and communicating with engineering, manufacturing, test, quality, program, and leadership teams.
• Experience leading system-level efforts, mentoring junior engineers, or providing subject-matter expertise.
