CAD Drafter/Designer III (Siemens NX)

What you will do

• Develop, modify, check, and release Siemens NX models, assemblies, weldments, and drawings for production, development, test, integration, and advanced manufacturing tooling.
• Create fabrication and assembly drawings using ASME Y14.5 GD&T and hirify.global drafting standards.
• Apply Model Based Definition under ASME Y14.41 by authoring PMI, GD&T, datums, notes, and finish callouts directly on controlled NX models.
• Maintain product data in Teamcenter and Windchill and shepherd changes through configuration-controlled release processes.
• Detail assembly fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, lifting and rigging hardware, and custom machines.
• Support engineering reviews, vendor RFQs, fabrication, inspection, proof testing, and as-built documentation while mentoring junior drafters and designers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional CAD modeling and drafting experience with mechanical hardware, tooling, or ground support equipment.
• Strong professional proficiency in Siemens NX for parts, assemblies, weldments, and drawings.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and experience applying it to fabricated, machined, and welded tooling.
• Experience with Model Based Definition, PMI authoring, ASME Y14.41, and formal configuration management or engineering change processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, tolerances, and stack-up analysis sufficient to produce manufacturable drawings.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements and pass the applicable background checks.

Nice to have

• Teamcenter PDM experience, including workflows, revisioning, and BOM management.
• PTC Creo and Windchill familiarity.
• Experience with AWS D1.1/D17.1 weldment drafting, ASME BTH-1, AISC, or the Aluminum Design Manual.
• Experience detailing custom-machine components, DFM/DFA, and tooling from development through rate production.
• Aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability industry experience.
