Designer II (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment required

Salary: $71,338.47–$98,090.40 per year

What you will do

• Develop detailed designs, technical drawings, and 3D models for complex aerospace and defense projects.
• Review and refine layouts, drawings, and models for accuracy and compliance with design standards.
• Identify design errors and deficiencies and implement technical improvements.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to meet specifications and budget constraints.
• Prepare design documentation and reports for reviews and project milestones.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Design, Drafting, or a related field, or a higher relevant degree in place of experience.
• At least 2 years of design or drafting experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA, plus experience with computer-aided engineering tools.
• Knowledge of design principles, drafting standards, engineering practices, regulatory requirements, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and technical publications.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Experience with advanced CAD tools, full lifecycle design processes, agile development, or project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
