Architect (.NET Framework and Microservices Architecture)

Location: Hybrid position requiring 3–4 days per week in a client office in Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $81,337–$163,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program.

What you will do

• Design and govern end-to-end enterprise application architectures using .NET Framework and microservices.
• Define service boundaries, API strategies, integration patterns, and distributed system architectures.
• Translate complex business and product requirements into technical solutions and architectural blueprints.
• Review code, integrations, and implementations to improve quality, performance, scalability, and adherence to standards.
• Lead modernization initiatives that migrate legacy .NET applications to cloud-ready microservices architectures.
• Mentor development teams and promote best practices in security, DevOps, observability, and hybrid delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development, solution design, and enterprise application architecture.
• Strong hands-on expertise with .NET Framework and .NET technologies for large-scale, high-volume applications.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, and event-driven solutions.
• Strong understanding of integration, performance tuning, scalability, resiliency, and fault-tolerant design.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; CI/CD pipelines; containerization; and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills in global hybrid environments.
