Principal DevOps Architect (AI/ML)

Salary: $155,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the architecture and technical roadmap for AWS infrastructure, deployment, observability, reliability, and AI/ML platforms.
• Build Terraform modules, policy-as-code controls, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable reference implementations for multiple engineering teams.
• Design and operate secure, highly available multi-tenant infrastructure across development, UAT, staging, and production.
• Run containerized workloads on Docker and Kubernetes, including safe release strategies, automated deployments, and rollback processes.
• Operate observability and reliability programs using SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, OpenTelemetry, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
• Build and govern AI/ML infrastructure using AWS Bedrock, Anthropic models, MCP services, LLMOps, cost controls, audit logging, and regulated-data boundaries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent technical education and experience.
• 10+ years of SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering experience, including senior individual-contributor or architect-level work.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux administration, Unix scripting, and automation.
• Experience with cloud-native monitoring, OpenTelemetry, application observability, and production incident response.
• Experience working in a HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, PHI, PII, or PCI DSS environment.
• Must be based in the United States; the role is fully remote within the US.

Nice to have

• Production experience with AI/ML or GenAI platforms, Anthropic Claude, AWS Bedrock, LLMOps, agents, or MCP services.
• Experience with AI security and governance, OWASP LLM Top 10, NIST AI RMF, BYOK, and regulated-data controls.
• Experience with PHP, MySQL, SQL, New Relic, policy-as-code, secrets management, SBOMs, supply-chain security, or FinOps.
• Clinical research or healthcare technology experience.
