Senior DevOps Architect (Azure)

Location: Remote within the United States

Base salary: $124,000–$200,000 per year, plus variable and non-variable benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for client application and infrastructure delivery using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Develop Terraform modules and manage Azure infrastructure, with additional AWS support for dual-cloud and AWS-native environments.
• Automate build, testing, deployment, infrastructure state management, module versioning, and drift detection.
• Implement infrastructure security practices, including secrets management, least-privilege IAM, RBAC, and policy-as-code guardrails.
• Support containerized application deployments with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service, while troubleshooting frontend, backend, and infrastructure issues.
• Present technical decisions to client stakeholders, mentor engineers, and create reusable DevOps patterns, reference architectures, and runbooks.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability engineering.
• Strong hands-on Azure experience, including Azure DevOps, Resource Manager, networking, IAM, compute, and storage.
• Working knowledge of AWS core services, including EC2, IAM, VPC, and S3.
• Production experience designing Terraform modules, managing remote state, and building CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
• Experience with scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell, plus Docker and Kubernetes or AKS.
• Hands-on use of Claude Code, strong infrastructure security knowledge, and the ability to communicate technical decisions to technical and non-technical clients.

Nice to have

• Azure, AWS, Terraform Associate, or Anthropic/Claude certifications.
• Experience with Sentinel, OPA, Azure Policy, security scanning, SAST, dependency scanning, or container scanning.
• Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
