EHS Manager (Aerospace)

Location: North Austin, Texas, with travel between Texas and California sites; requires outdoor work and extended hours during critical test and launch operations. Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

What you will do

• Lead the HSE program across manufacturing, test, and launch operations and establish standards, policies, and procedures across multiple sites.
• Manage HSE Engineers and Specialists while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Operations, Launch Operations, and Quality.
• Oversee hazard identification, TRA/JSA, risk assessments, controls, incident investigations, corrective actions, and SIF prevention programs.
• Provide safety oversight for engine firings, high-pressure systems, LN2/LOX systems, ground support equipment, and launch operations.
• Manage environmental compliance, monitoring, hazardous waste, permits, chemical inventories, and waste minimization.
• Lead regulatory inspections, audits, training, emergency preparedness, safety culture initiatives, and HSE performance reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of HSE experience in aerospace or another high-hazard industry for the Manager level; 8–12+ years and 3+ years of leadership experience for the Senior Manager level.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NFPA requirements, with experience in hazardous operations, incident investigations, and safety training.
• Senior Manager candidates need multi-site HSE ownership and experience supporting test, launch, DoD, or NASA operations, including test, propellant, or range safety programs.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.
• Ability to travel between Texas and California sites, work outdoors, and work extended hours during critical operations.

Nice to have

• CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certification.
• HAZWOPER 40 certification and experience with energetics or explosives safety.
• Familiarity with AFSPCMAN 91-710 or NASA-STD-8719.
• Ability to operate forklifts and boom lifts.
