HR Business Partner (HRBP)

Location: Hybrid in Herndon, Virginia; on-site 2–3 days per week, with candidates expected to live within approximately 50 miles of the office.

What you will do

• Advise business leaders on workforce, talent, performance, and people strategy.
• Translate business objectives, operating priorities, and financial drivers into people plans and actions.
• Lead performance management cycles, talent reviews, development planning, succession planning, and leadership capability development.
• Diagnose organizational effectiveness issues and support organization design, workforce planning, and organizational change.
• Manage moderately complex employee relations matters and ensure people decisions are ethical, compliant, and well documented.
• Collaborate with Legal, Security, Finance, HR Centers of Excellence, and business leadership to mitigate workforce risk and deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree or HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is preferred.
• 4–6 years of progressive HR Business Partner or equivalent experience.
• Experience in regulated, high-accountability, or security-sensitive environments is strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently advise and influence manager- and director-level leaders while navigating ambiguity and sensitive situations.
• Strong knowledge of HR fundamentals, employment practices, compliance, workforce data interpretation, coaching, facilitation, and communication.
