Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Specialist (Power Operations)

Location: Abilene, Texas, United States; on-site at a data center power plant. The role may require travel to additional locations.

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 per year plus bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.

What you will do

• Partner with Power Operations to identify operational risks and create action plans to reduce exposure.
• Develop and implement HSE processes, procedures, work instructions, checklists, and operational safety programs.
• Conduct risk assessments, monitor regulatory and internal compliance, and report HSE objectives and key metrics.
• Coordinate HSE training and communicate safety expectations across employees, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Support audits, assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis following failures, incidents, or accidents.
• Track corrective actions, maintain HSE documentation, and support other operational groups and projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in oil and gas, plants, refineries, power generation, or other heavy industrial operations.
• Deep knowledge of federal and state HSE regulations and practical experience implementing safety policies and procedures in operational environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communication with external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with computers, documentation, reporting, and HSE management systems.
• Must be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States without sponsorship.
• Safety-sensitive position requiring participation in a drug and alcohol program.

Nice to have

• University degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in rotating equipment safety, NFPA 70E electrical safety, or process safety management.
• CSP, ASP, or OHST certification.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and a record of driving safety culture change.
