Senior Counsel, AI & Legal Technology

Location: Illinois, United States; Remote/Hybrid

Salary: $183,000–$275,000 annual base salary, plus performance bonus and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Serve as the lead legal advisor for enterprise AI, product development, marketing, and legal technology.
• Monitor and interpret U.S. and international AI laws, regulations, and industry developments.
• Develop policies, frameworks, agreement terms, and best practices for compliant product and business operations.
• Review and negotiate customer, vendor, open-source, strategic partner, collaboration, and co-marketing agreements.
• Advise Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Partner, Strategy, Procurement, and other stakeholders on launches, customer solutions, and strategic initiatives.
• Improve legal processes, product documentation, beta-testing approaches, and contract language while using AI and legal technology tools.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and active U.S. bar membership in good standing are required.
• Deep knowledge of the AI regulatory landscape, including the EU AI Act, EU omnibus, state-level AI bills, and FTC guidance.
• Six or more years of relevant in-house or law firm experience supporting technology initiatives.
• Experience with AI, data, privacy, intellectual property, technology transactions, software development, cloud services, and licensing.
• Knowledge of open-source licensing, API terms, SaaS agreements, platform policies, marketing law, and information security.
• Proficiency with AI tools, legal technology, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and contract management software.

• Experience advising product and marketing teams in a fast-paced technology or legal technology company.
• Knowledge of data, trade secrets, trademarks, and proprietary rights.
• Familiarity with Ironclad, Asana, and legal research platforms.
