Senior Android Engineer (Trust & Safety)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid with three days per week onsite

Salary: $198,000–$235,000 base compensation annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own Android development for the Trust & Safety team and set technical direction.
• Design, develop, and optimize features such as abuse reporting, privacy controls, and the U18 experience.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, backend, and iOS engineers to ship end-to-end solutions.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming while raising Android quality standards.
• Use AI tools to improve software development and delivery speed.
• Expand into backend and web frontend work as the role’s scope grows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production Android applications.
• Professional experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Familiarity with Coroutines and Room.
• Experience designing or consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong Android fundamentals, including architecture, performance, testing, and end-to-end feature delivery.
• Product-focused approach and willingness to grow into server-side and web frontend development.
