Buyer (Supply Chain)

Location: Thomaston, Connecticut, United States. Onsite role with up to 10% travel required. US Citizenship and no dual citizenship are required to access NOFORN naval nuclear propulsion information.

Citizenship requirement: Acceptable proof includes a US Passport, US Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate.

What you will do

• Issue RFQs and purchase orders on time to support production.
• Manage supplier due dates and expedite critical orders.
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Coordinate with planning and operations to support manufacturing schedules.
• Assist with accounts payable and invoicing questions or issues.
• Negotiate supplier terms and pricing while managing multiple projects.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related business field.
• Strong analytical, financial, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with an ERP system, preferably Infor Visual.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proof of US Citizenship and an attestation of no dual citizenship are required for the NOFORN requirement.

Nice to have

• Ability to comprehend blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
