Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering across Windows and Linux servers, workstations, storage, virtualization, and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Provide Tier 2 through Tier 4 support, root-cause troubleshooting, and problem resolution in a 24/7 mission environment.
• Configure and maintain VMware vCenter, VMware NSX-T, virtual servers, virtual desktops, automation solutions, and AWS Windows infrastructure.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DFS, DHCP, and related enterprise services while maintaining security and configuration standards.
• Manage data center operations, including capacity planning, hardware installation, cabling, inventory, decommissioning, and secure destruction.
• Coordinate engineering projects, assess technical risks, track infrastructure performance, and manage requests, changes, and incidents in ServiceNow.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure operations, and multi-tier support in federal or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, VMware vCenter, VMware NSX-T, Active Directory, DNS, DFS, and DHCP.
• Experience implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides and maintaining government security baselines.
• Experience securing and monitoring infrastructure with Splunk, Checkmk, McAfee ePO, and BitLocker.
• Experience managing technical risks, implementation coordination, changes, incidents, and cross-functional engineering issues.

Nice to have

• Rocky Linux administration and engineering experience.
• VMware Horizon VDI deployment and optimization experience.
• Experience presenting technical architecture and system documentation to government review boards.
• Engineering Lead or Team Lead experience on large IT modernization projects.
• Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks, automated compliance auditing, and accountable property management.
