TL;DR
Systems Engineer (Linux) (Hybrid-Cloud Infrastructure): Operating and engineering Linux and Windows infrastructure across on-premises data centers and commercial cloud environments with an accent on virtualization, automation, security configuration, and Tier 2–Tier 4 support. Focus on managing VMware platforms, maintaining DISA STIGs, coordinating infrastructure projects, and resolving complex systems and application issues in a 24/7 mission environment.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Operate and engineer Linux and Windows servers, workstations, storage, virtualization, and hybrid-cloud infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 2 through Tier 4 support and problem resolution for infrastructure products and applications in a 24/7 environment.
- Manage VMware vCenter, VMware NSX-T, virtual servers, virtual desktops, and automation solutions.
- Perform data center management, including hardware installation, cabling, commissioning, inventory, capacity management, decommissioning, and equipment destruction.
- Coordinate engineering projects, assess technical risks, deconflict implementations, and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and utilization, maintain asset inventories, and deploy security configuration standards.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- Strong Linux engineering experience, including Debian, and experience supporting infrastructure environments.
- Experience managing VMware vCenter and VMware NSX-T.
- Experience operating Active Directory, DNS, DFS, and DHCP.
- Experience maintaining DISA STIGs and supporting security configurations.
- Experience with Splunk, Check_MK, McAfee ePO, BitLocker, and ServiceNow requirements management.
Nice to have
- Experience with Rocky Linux and VMware Horizon VDI.
- Experience creating system documentation and presenting briefings to review and approval boards.
- Tier 1 through Tier 4 support, incident management, and systems troubleshooting experience.
- Engineering leadership and coordination of IT engineering projects.
- Experience with Center for Internet Security Benchmarks and accountable property processes.
