Intern, Electrical Distribution Systems (EV)

Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; 4–5 days in-office per week required

Compensation: $25–$35 USD per hour

What you will do

• Design vehicle electrical wiring harnesses, distribution systems, connectors, and related components.
• Create 2D and 3D electrical distribution system designs using CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent tools.
• Develop wiring schematics, routing layouts, and bills of materials.
• Perform tolerance analysis, routing feasibility studies, and virtual or physical mockups.
• Support DV/PV validation, electrical testing, troubleshooting, manufacturing builds, and field issue resolution.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, hardware, software, manufacturing, service, and supplier teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring harness architecture, and connector technologies.
• Hands-on experience with multimeter and oscilloscope diagnostics, wire crimping, soldering, or bench testing.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to take ownership of problems in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, in the Garden Grove facility for the internship duration.

Nice to have

• Experience with CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Capital, VeSys, or similar CAD and harness design tools.
• Participation in Formula SAE, Baja SAE, Solar Car, or similar collegiate design competitions.
• Automotive, aerospace, or robotics internship or project experience.
• Experience building, repairing, or troubleshooting automotive wiring harnesses.
