Controls Engineering Intern (Electrical & Controls)

Location: Greencastle, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite work in office, field, and production environments

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support the construction, installation, operation, maintenance, and testing of electric-over-hydraulic control systems.
• Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, build wire harnesses, and follow written test procedures.
• Use digital multimeters and troubleshoot electrical control processes and component issues.
• Debug instrumentation and controls and support start-up and qualification of control systems on new equipment.
• Execute controls projects under engineering guidance while communicating with internal and external customers.
• Follow shop safety practices and contribute to a collaborative, ethical, and professional work environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, robotics, controls engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts.
• Ability to shift between detailed computer-based work and physical tasks in field or production environments.
• Ability to walk across shop floors and varied terrain, stand, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and work around changing temperatures or noise levels.
• Regular attendance and compliance with safety procedures are required.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or work-related experience.
• Mechanical design experience or strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with Creo Parametric, Pro-E, CATIA, or a similar CAD system.
• Knowledge of steel and sheet metal fabrication, construction equipment, or SAE teams and other extracurricular activities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
