External Manufacturing Account Manager (MedTech)

Location: San Jose, California, United States of America. Remote work may be considered case by case for approved applicants based in the United States. The role requires 33–50% domestic and international travel, primarily to Costa Rica and Mexico.

Base salary: $118,000–$203,550 per year.

What you will do

• Own the Bronch Instruments and Accessories supply chain and manufacturing value stream for the Monarch Bronchoscopy Robotic System.
• Manage Costa Rica external manufacturing partnerships and communication governance with multiple global manufacturers.
• Drive supplier change management, scale-up, line performance, product reliability, and business continuity initiatives.
• Lead investigations into technical manufacturing defects using failure analysis, SCAPA, and CAPA methods.
• Manage lifecycle changes, line transfers, and project execution using Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, and Gantt charts.
• Partner with R&D, PMO, Quality, Sourcing, and other stakeholders on prioritization, negotiations, and cross-functional tradeoffs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, supply chain, operations, manufacturing, business, science, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in catheter or extrusion manufacturing, equipment development, product or program management, supply chain, engineering, or related functions supporting complex hardware products.
• Experience with supplier management and negotiations, NPI launches, supply chain readiness, and lifecycle strategy.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across product development, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and commercial operations.
• FPX or project management certification, or equivalent experience, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience managing remote employees and influencing senior leaders without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or MS.
• Experience in medical devices, robotics, endoscope manufacturing, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, design transfer, design controls, supplier change management, and configuration management.
• Experience developing manufacturing network, sourcing, supplier, make-versus-buy, or capacity strategies.
• Spanish proficiency, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, or APICS Supplier Management certification.
