Category Manager, Direct Materials (Packaging)

Location: US - Massachusetts; 100% remote working is available, with hybrid on-site/virtual work also permitted

Salary: $64,000–$95,950 annual base salary for U.S.-based positions, plus possible incentive compensation

hirify.global is a medical device company developing the Omnipod platform for insulin delivery and other subcutaneous drug therapies.

What you will do

• Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for packaging materials and related supplier categories.
• Lead sourcing events, supplier evaluations, competitive bids, benchmarking, contract negotiations, and supplier agreements.
• Partner with Packaging Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Planning, and Manufacturing to meet quality, regulatory, capacity, service, and cost requirements.
• Manage supplier performance through business reviews, scorecards, corrective action plans, and escalation of capacity, quality, service, and shortage issues.
• Drive cost reduction, productivity, supplier consolidation, specification optimization, supply continuity, and operational resilience projects.
• Perform cost-benefit analysis, should-cost modeling, supplier performance reporting, and sustainability-focused packaging improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, engineering, packaging science, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement category management, negotiations, contracting, supplier management, packaging procurement, and project management.
• Experience with global strategic sourcing and supplier management for packaging materials.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, conversion processes, tooling, specifications, supplier capabilities, quality requirements, RFx processes, benchmarking, cost analysis, and should-cost modeling.
• Demonstrated cost savings, productivity improvements, service-level improvements, stakeholder influence, and senior-level supplier leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; medical device, regulated manufacturing, life sciences, packaging, or global manufacturing experience is preferred.
